Who needs prosthodontics?

Prosthodontics can treat a wide range of issues. Your general dentist might refer you to a prosthodontist if you have:

  1. Missing teeth.
  2. Severely damaged teeth.
  3. TMJ pain or dysfunction.
  4. Mouth or facial pain.
  5. Cosmetic concerns.

Dentures

Dentures are prosthetic devices constructed to replace missing teeth, supported by the surrounding soft and hard tissues of the oral cavity. Conventional dentures are removable. There are many types of dentures, including full, partial and implant-supported dentures.
They are relatively affordable compared to other dental treatments, easy to use, and customizable according to the patient’s needs.
The American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) recommends that dentures be cleaned daily by soaking and brushing with an effective, nonabrasive denture cleanser to reduce levels of biofilm and potentially harmful bacteria and fungi.
